Yajna Movement
The Yug Nirman Yojana mission of All World Gayatri Pariwar is engaged in multiple reformative and reconstructive activities on the personal, familial, social, national, and cultural fronts of life. The predominant focus of this mission is the spiritual refinement of the suksma vatavarana (subtle environment), which it endeavors to achieve through a Yagya-based movement rooted in Vedic tradition.
Historic Significance of the Yagya Movement
Emergence from Rigorous Tapa-Sadhana
This historic mission emerged from the rigorous tapa-sadhana of Pt. Shriram Sharma Acharya, often referred to as the Vishwamitra of our times. His devout endeavors and supernormal spiritual eminence enabled the epochal descent of the otherwise lost and forgotten super knowledge (vidya) of Gayatri. Acharya deciphered and propagated the divine light of Yug Shakti Gayatri to reach the masses and pioneered the revival of the Vedic culture of Yagya, making it accessible to every man and woman in contemporary times.
Addressing the Era's Problems
Like the rishis of yore, Acharya’s sagacious acumen and saintly heart understood the enormous problems and crises of the era through deeper spiritual insights. He encouraged addressing the root causes hidden in the suksma vatavarana and attempted colossal refinement in every dimension of life through spiritual experiments of Gayatri Sadhana and Yagya.
Key Milestones in the Yagya Movement
Sahastranshu Brahm Yagya (1953)
The “Sahastranshu Brahm Yagya” performed on Gayatri Jayanti 1953 was the first spiritual experiment with grand participation from all parts of society. This event marked the auspicious commemoration of the completion of the twenty-four divine maha-puraicaranas endeavored by Acharya over twenty-four years, laying the foundation of the Gayatri Pariwar.
Series of Distinct Yagyas (1955 Onwards)
Starting in 1955, a series of distinct Yagyas in the Vedic tradition were conducted, including Mahamratuojaya Yagya, Rudra Yagya, Vishnu Yagya, Sata Candi Yagya, Nava Graha Yagya, Ganapati Yagya, Saraswati Yagya, Jyotistoma Yagya, Agnistoma, and the Gyana Yagya of the four Vedas. These Yagyas mobilized collective power and enthusiasm towards social reformation and welfare.
Brahmastra Anusthana (1957)
In 1957, the “Brahmastra Anusthana” involved a yearlong spiritual experiment with twenty-four lacs of Gayatri Mantra japa and twenty-four lac ahutis in Yagyas. This was aimed at protecting mankind from adverse planetary positions and potential calamities. The first congress of the All India Gayatri Pariwar was organized this year to enlighten members about Gayatri Vidya and the true spirit and scientific aspects of Yagya.
Sahastra Kundiya Gayatri MahaYagya (1958)
Conducted in November 1958, this event commemorated the completion of the Brahmastra Anusthana. Over four lakh devotees participated, accelerating the spiritual purification of the suksma vatavarana and giving impetus to the mission.
Expansion and Impact of the Yagya Movement
Daily and Collective Yagyas
The mission promotes daily Yagyas at individual and familial levels, as well as collective Yagyas at community levels. This approach ensures continuous spiritual engagement and community bonding.
Deep Yagyas
Introduced by Acharya in 1986-87, Dipa Yagyas are simplified versions of traditional Yagyas, making them accessible to everyone. These Yagyas use incense sticks as Yagya kundas, allowing people to perform them with minimal resources.
Ashwamedha Yagyas
The series of twenty-seven Ashwamedha Yagyas conducted under the guidance of Mataji Smt. Bhagavati Devi Sharma were milestones in the mission’s ascent. These events demonstrated how Yagya could foster unity and cooperation among diverse communities.
Scientific and Spiritual Integration
The mission emphasizes the scientific aspects of Yagya, demonstrating its benefits in purifying air, water, and soil. This integration of science and spirituality helps in making the practice more acceptable and understandable to a broader audience.
Importance of Yagya in Gayatri Pariwar Nepal
Cultural and Spiritual Heritage
Yagya is an integral part of the cultural and spiritual heritage promoted by Gayatri Pariwar Nepal. It serves as a bridge connecting the community with its ancient traditions and spiritual practices.
Educational and Reformative Tool
Yagyas are used as a platform for mass education and social awareness. They help in spreading the teachings of Gayatri Vidya and the philosophy of Yagya, promoting a deeper understanding of these practices.
Environmental and Health Benefits
The practice of Yagya is believed to have significant environmental benefits, such as purifying the atmosphere. Additionally, it promotes physical health and mental peace, contributing to overall well-being.
Inclusivity and Accessibility
The mission has simplified the process of performing Yagyas, making it accessible to everyone, regardless of their socio-economic status or educational background. This inclusivity helps in spreading the practice widely.
Community Building
Yagyas foster a sense of community and collective spiritual growth. They bring people together, transcending barriers of caste, creed, and social status, and promote unity and harmony.
Achievements and Global Expansion
The mission’s growth has extended beyond India, with representatives carrying the message of Yagya-based life to over eighty countries. The achievements of the Yagya movement are seen as equal to or greater than those of the grand Yagyas of the Ramayana and Mahabharata times.
Scientific Validation
Scientific experiments conducted during major Yagyas have verified their effects in purifying air, water, and soil. This validation helps in promoting the practice of Yagya as a scientifically sound and spiritually enriching activity.
Future Vision and Prophecy
The spiritual mission of inspiring the entire human race with the angelic spirit of Yagya aims to bestow physical health and vigor upon people and illuminate every mind with immense peace and piety. The global expansion of this Yagya movement is expected to harmonize the ecological balance, purify the gross and the subliminal environment of Nature and life, and create a heavenly atmosphere on earth.
As the prophecy of the visionaries indicates, the future structure and values of human society will emanate from the philosophy of Yagya. With the recognition and adoption of the Yagya-based culture in every house and family, all villages and towns will become tirthas (sacred places), and the nation will regain its distinction as a sacred tapobhumi (land of penance). The Indian soil will attain its lost glory, and the future of humanity will blossom in its guiding light.
The Yagya movement, with its deep spiritual, social, and environmental significance, continues to be a cornerstone of the Yug Nirman Yojana mission. It fosters holistic development and well-being, aiming to create a harmonious and enlightened society. The dedication to this historic mission of reviving the Vedic culture of Yagya is a testament to the enduring legacy of Pt. Shriram Sharma Acharya and the collective efforts of the Gayatri Pariwar.
