Akhand Jyoti Magazine

Akhand Jyoti (अखण्ड ज्योति) is a monthly magazine originally published from Mathura, initiated in 1938 by Pt. Shriram Sharma Acharya, the founder of All World Gayatri Pariwar (www.awgp.org). The magazine aims to promote scientific spirituality and the concept of a scientific religion for the 21st century. It is available in over 10 languages and boasts a global readership exceeding a million subscribers. Akhand Jyoti addresses various life aspects, including personality development, health management, family dynamics, societal progress, social sustainability, nation-building, and scientific spirituality.

The first issue was released on Vasant Panchami in January 1938, initially in Hindi with a limited circulation from Agra. Due to World War II, publication was temporarily halted but resumed in January 1940 with 500 copies. By 1941, the magazine had relocated to Mathura and has been published continuously since then. Notably, since B.S. 2079, Akhand Jyoti has also been available in Nepali for the Nepalese audience.

Pt. Shriram Sharma Acharya, the magazine’s first editor, was a journalist and an active participant in the Indian freedom struggle. He contributed to the Hindi daily Sainik and authored over three thousand books, including commentaries on ancient Hindu scriptures.

In 1990, Bhagwati Devi Sharma, co-founder of All World Gayatri Pariwar, took over the editorial responsibilities. Since 1994, Pranav Pandya, Director of Brahmavarchas Shodh Sansthan, has been serving as the chief editor.
